We offer the Volkswagen 1.8T VW Turbo inline 4 cylinder engine for a conversion option in your VW Vanagon. This engine has been proven for many years in the VW Jetta, New Beetle, Passat and Golf’s/GTI as well as Audi TT, A4/A6 Quattro (several other VW extensions in Europe including Skota and Seat) and are extremely reliable engines. They are also classed as the only Turbo engine with a Ultra Low Emissions grade for California. Stock horse power out of this engine is 180 and 174 ft. lbs. of torque with room to spare! This amount of torque is available as low as 1950 RPM.
We have been working on this project for some time working out all the legal aspects of the California smog laws. This is a modern engine so if a problem would come about any shop could handle it. Increase your reliability, fuel economy and power output with this conversion! The new VW engine conversion will make your Vanagon feel like a normal car getting onto the freeway. Consider having an original brand engine installed in your Vanagon. If you have owned your vanagon long enough you have probably had a break down at one time or another. Pulling (or being towed) into a repair shop and you may or may not get your Vanagon fixed due to either it's age or it just being a Vanagon. We all know this all to well and how sad it is. Now add into the picture a different manufacturer brand engine and you most likely will be turned away or not be repaired correctly or a lenghtly repair with possibly an elevated repair bill. With the help of the internet fourms you may get your Vanagon onto the road quicker or be able to help out a technician working on your Vanagon with technical information.
The 1.8T engine is a modern engine most repair shops have serviced in the past and is the same make as your vehicle. It's the best of both worlds.
